Yesterday (July 18th) I finally climbed Mt Katahdin and completed my thruhike. Woooohoooo! Thanks everyone for your support the whole way. Today we are driving home, a 12 hour ride, but I will fully update my blog in the coming days. Happy Trails!

Harvey - many congratulations! Its been fun reading about your adventures on the AT. I have also had regular updates from your Mum and know how much she has done to support you through this (all that lovely grub she has cooked and mailed to you). We (David and I) wish to donate $100.00 to the ARC in recognition of your achievement.

Congratulations Harvey!!!! We really enjoyed following you along the AT on the web. Looking forward to seeing a followup interview with R-news (?).
ReplyDeleteYou did it! Remember that first night at Hawk Mtn Shelter? How long ago does it feel now? I'm so jealous I wasn't there to finish the hike with you, but I'm entering the White's tomorrow and I'll have my own moment at the top. I have a ton of questions to ask you about what's coming up, but I'll let you bask in your accomplishment for the moment. Give me a call at 970-819-8758 when you get a chance to catch up. Again, congrats. ~ Steamboat

Way to go! Thanks for sharing your experiences with the world. For every person posting a comment, I'm sure there are several others who have been tracking your progress. I would love to thru-hike, but middle-age responsibilities rule right now. Thinking of thru-hiking with my son in a few years, when he gets a little older. Your hike is an inspiration! Keep going, Steamboat- we're cheering you on, too!
